THU HO - VISUAL ARTIST

Born and raised in the vibrant landscapes of Vietnam, my early years were steeped in the rich tapestry of Asian tradition and culture. In 2015, a move to New Brunswick, Canada, marked a significant transition in not only my geographical location but also my professional trajectory. Initially an entrepreneur and marketer, my passion for art burgeoned, compelling me to embrace a full-time artistic path in 2019. This bold decision was driven by an unwavering desire to live a life brimming with creativity and artistic exploration.

In 2023, I proudly completed my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with distinction from Mount Allison University, an institution renowned for its commitment to fostering artistic excellence. This academic achievement, coupled with my current postgraduate studies in art therapy at the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute, underscores my dedication to both personal and professional growth within the artistic realm.

Through the mediums of Japanese woodblock printing, creative photography and fiber art, I want to capture the ephemeral moments and enduring elements of nature. My work seeks to evoke a sense of tranquility, contemplation, and connection, inviting viewers to pause and appreciate the subtle intricacies that often go unnoticed in our fast-paced lives.

As I continue to evolve as an artist, my commitment to exploring the intersection of art and therapy remains steadfast. I believe in the transformative power of art to heal, inspire, and connect, and I am dedicated to using my skills to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the world around us.

My early artistic contributions include photos published in PhotoED magazine, installations at Festival Inspire in Moncton and Illuminate Arts Festival in Fredericton, and group exhibitions in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Quebec. Frequently,I have been awarded grants for artist professional development as well as research and create programs from the Canada Council for the Arts and the New Brunswick Arts Board.
